Listings on ilocality are ordered by a score built only from information we hold about each business. No outside star rating goes into it, and no business can pay to move up.
The “Recommended” order

| Profile completeness | up to 60 | A real description, opening hours, a photo, website, phone, services, address or service area, and contact email |
| Up-to-date information | up to 20 | Full points when the listing was reviewed in the last 90 days, falling to zero after a year |
| Activity on ilocality | up to 20 | How often people viewed the listing, called, visited the website or asked for directions in the last 30 days (clicks on sponsored placements are not counted) |
The total is capped at 100. Listings with the same score are shown in the order they were added.
Sponsored listings
A business can pay for a sponsored placement. Sponsored listings are always labeled “Sponsored”, appear in their own slot, and do not change the score or the Recommended order.
